Introducing Geospatial Targeting
We are pleased to announce that Geospatial Targeting is now available in Cxense Advertising.
Geospatial targeting allows you to specify regions on a map to serve ads to, meaning it’s now really easy to get clever with geo-targeting.
Here’s what it looks like to target five rectangular regions on and around the Sydney Opera House.
Just hit the rectangle in the top-left of the map to start drawing rectangles on the map. Hit the save button, and voilà, you’ll only be serving ads from the campaign whenever a user is situated in any one of the rectangles you’ve specified.
Note: clicking on any one of the listed rectangles on the left will centre the map onto the rectangle. Here’s what the feature looks like after having clicked on the text for the purple rectangle:
How to Enable Geospatial Targeting for Your Advertising Campaigns
Just like other matching features, you need to first add the matching feature template to a product. Once that’s done, every campaign based off said product will have geospatial matching available.
The user interface for marking out rectangular regions will only work by default when connecting to Cxense Advertising from a subdomain of cxense.com, or in other words, https://cxad.cxense.com or https://someothersubdomain.cxense.com. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to enable the user interface for Geospatial Targeting from your own custom domain.
Lastly, this feature makes use of a 3rd party mapping service and does attract a charge for its use. Please contact your account representative to add this option to your Cxense Advertising deployment.
