In less than two weeks, WAN-IFRA’s annual World Publishing Expo kicks off in Hamburg, Germany. The World Publishing Expo, or WPE or just Expo as the conference is also called, is the place to learn about the latest trends in news publishing, and discover innovative ideas and solutions for mobile, web, and print publishing in one place. Here are three presentations that can’t be missed;
At the “Beyond Paid Content” seminar on Tuesday October 6th at 10.00am, focusing on ways publishers are starting to reap revenues from their content, Knut Paulsen from Norway’s Technical Weekly Magazine (Teknisk Ukeblad), will share their experiences. Technical Weekly Magazine have been early adopters when it comes to using data to increase audience engagement and content consumption, which in turn increases time on site, loyalty and digital revenues.
Then later on October 6th, a leading Scandinavian local publisher group will present a different way of using data at the “Social Media Optimisation” seminar at 2.00pm. This seminar will focus on ways to leverage the true power of the social networks: the activity of the users, and Polaris Media’s Håvard Kvalheim will present how they are analysing their social media traffic and A/B testing content targeting for the social media audience to make sure that social media referrals stay longer on the 30+ Polaris sites instead of just bouncing back to Facebook and the like. For publishers, understanding how to get more out of social media referral traffic is key to building loyalty audience today and in the future.
Finally, also on October 6th, Lauren Pedersen from Cxense, the global leader in data management and personalization technology, will walk the audience through what the new megatrend site personalization really means and how publishers should embrace personalization to drive engagement.
